Charles Dickens is England’s greatest and most popular novelist. Born on February 7th 1812, Dickens was first discovered by the literary world after the publication of The Pickwick Papers. Readers adored his humour and an excellent interpretation of society. His novels were published on a weekly and monthly basis and in 1843, he published his first popular work, A Christmas Carol. Many inspirations from other writers are taken from his Oliver Twist and Great Expectations and all three works have been adapted to many movies. Charles Dickens died on the 9th of June in 1870.
